confidence in the courtroom

  • The system is pretty messed up. If you have a clean driving record, it is pretty easy to get most traffic violations reduced to something that carries no points and doesn’t go on your driving record. As long as you keep your record clean, you’re pretty safe when you go in to fight a ticket. BUT, if you have multiple tickets, or in some jurisdictions even a single ticket on your record, it becomes significantly harder to get a deal to get the points removed or reduced in most District Courts in Michigan. Once you have points on your record, it becomes a slippery slope. Officers are less likely to give you a break on the road if you get stopped again; prosecutors become unwilling to reduce what the officers wrote you up for; and your insurance premiums just go up and up and up.

One thing is for sure: You should NEVER just “pay” a traffic ticket. Not unless its written as a charge that is non-reportable and carries 0 points. Spoiler: very few tickets like that are. Max has over a decade of experience dealing with all sorts of traffic tickets with city attorneys, state prosecutors, and judges across Southeast Michigan. He knows how to get you that coveted “Impeding Traffic” or “Double Parking” reduction.

  • With nearly a decade of experience representing major Trucking, Construction, Garbage Hauling, and other industrial companies on literally hundreds of tickets, Max understands the intricacies of the Commercial Motor Vehicle code and how to get the reductions needed to protect your CSA Score and get as much taken off of those pesky Overweight tickets. If you need to fight back and actually take something to hearing, Max has the skills to win. He won’t bullshit you and he WILL fight for every dollar. Years and years of close relationships with companies has honed Max’s ability to lessen the burden on your staff when it comes to processing tickets, keeping costs down for your business.

  • There are 14 different district courts in Oakland County with 30 different judges. Each court has a different courthouse protocol and each judge has a different courtroom protocol. Knowing these judges and knowing how their courtrooms work is a huge part of the equation when it comes to effectively representing your clients and getting the best results possible. Max sharpened his teeth as a criminal defense attorney doing public defender dockets at several different District Courts across Oakland County. These are long, grueling days representing sometimes upward of a dozen different defendants with charges ranging across the spectrum of misdemeanors in the Michigan Criminal Code, sometimes working with multiple different state prosecutors and city attorneys even within the same shift. At this point, Max has almost certainly handled over 1,000 misdemeanor cases spanning every single courtroom across Oakland County, not to mention countless others across the rest of Southeast Michigan. His ocean of experience means that almost nothing comes as a surprise.

For anyone with professional ambitions, having a criminal record is a major hindrance to achieving your goals. Sometimes, these cases are silly and stupid, but the consequences of them can be severe and life-changing. Walk into the courtroom with somebody who’s been there before. Keep your name clean.
